Coping during the holidays

The Hip Show discusses a strong topic on loosing a loved one, death and how do we continue with our lives during throughout the holidays. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and other seasonal holidays are stressful for nearly everyone. But they can be particularly difficult if you’re grieving the death of a loved one. The pain, sadness and loneliness that often follow the loss of a friend, family member or animal companion can feel unbearable when everyone around you is celebrating. This is especially true if it’s the first holiday without the loved one.

Special guest with Fran Ayers

In our second episode we had discussed on podcasting:
Discussion on loss ones that we had, coping skills, how to deal with a loss one, and losses and more!

The Hip Show starts Podcasting

We decided to start podcasting our shows.  We have an idea on how to use our podcasting column.  It won't be an everyday thing perhaps once a month or perhaps twice a month depending on our length of show and how much time Podocast is allowing us to record, so we have to take inconsideration with that as well.  It would be great if we could get to record about an hour which will give us more recording time.  So we will have to see about that.   We will be giving you more information about how we are going to use it and when we will be podcasting.  We would like to podcast on a set date or day depending on what day that will fall on.

We are pleased to announce that we are in the middle of thinking about having a set schedule with certain days and times for The Hip Show on blogtalkradio.  We will still have 30 minute long shows, and if we have to feel that we need to extend the show to an hour, we will.  But at the moment we are pretty much comfortable with 30 mintues.

Motivation

As you listened to our show dated January 10, 2012, we discussed about motivation.  We ask questions to ourselves about motivation.  What is motivation?  Where does it come from?  How are we able to motivate ourselves?

Listen to internet radio with beefybri on Blog Talk Radio

Motivation as we all know it, is the desire to be able to do things, or accomplish.  I have to say that you have to own your own levels of motivation and self-control, and by doing that is to figure out what you  want and then start being what and who you want to be.

There are some theories of motivation and that it may be rooted in basic need to minimize physical pain and to maximize the pleasures.  Some include specific needs such as eating and resting or a desired ojbect, hobby, goal, or even state of being.

You know, guys, motivation should not be confused with either optimism or violation.  Motivation is related, but distinct from emotion.
